Van de Ven Double Ends The Toffees' Run at New Stadium

Micky van de Ven scored twice as Tottenham extended their unbeaten run on the road in the top division and handed Everton their first defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton were unbeaten in their five previous fixtures at their new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock, having left Goodison Park behind after 133 years at the end of the previous campaign.

Beto, meanwhile, failed to convert a number of opportunities, while the Italian goalkeeper made a series of fine saves to ensure the London club went five away games unbeaten in the Premier League.

But the VAR intervened, advising the match official to review the goal on the screen and the official ruled that Jack Grealish and the attacker were in an illegal position and had impeded with the Spurs keeper.

This victory moves the manager's team up to third in the division, a handful of points off north London rivals and table-toppers Arsenal.

The Merseyside club stay in 14th position and sit six points clear of the drop zone.

After a drab weekday performance in the Champions League against the French side, where they mustered a mere two shots on target, Frank opted for the French striker up front instead of former Toffees player Richarlison.

It was not for a shortage of opportunity. Most of the home side's attacks came through Grealish and the forward, who tirelessly delivered threatening balls into the Spurs box.
