PSG Edges Marseille on Penalties to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the showdown featuring the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

However, Marseille struck twice late to take a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of fortune, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital leveler in the final moments to force the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all converted with composure for PSG to seal a convincing shootout win.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the last thirteen years.
